The Brief

The childcare environment required consistent, well-regulated conditioning and a ventilation approach that supports health and safety expectations. The solution also needed to integrate outside air and exhaust requirements across the facility, including kitchen extraction.

Project Overview

Air conditioning in childcare centres plays a practical role in comfort and day-to-day health outcomes. It supports temperature control across learning and rest spaces and helps manage humidity.  MAPS recently completed the installation of HVAC equipment for Nido Childcare School in Safety Bay, delivering an integrated air conditioning and ventilation solution aligned to the site’s operational needs.

The Solution

Air Conditioning Installation

MAPS installed two Daikin VRV systems serving eight ducted indoor units to provide conditioning across the centre. The air conditioners were paired with sleek four-way diffusers to support air distribution within occupied spaces.

Outside Air and Exhaust Integration

The installation included outside air integration and multiple exhaust air systems. This included commercial rangehood extraction with evaporative makeup air to support the site’s ventilation and operational requirements.

Ventilation and Compliance

Ventilation was delivered using Fantech fans, supporting compliance with AS1668 requirements as specified for the project.

Quality Assurance and Handover

The project was delivered with a Quality Assurance Certificate, confirming the installed systems met design intent and performance expectations.

Outcome

Nido Childcare School in Safety Bay now has new HVAC equipment installed that integrates VRV air conditioning, outside air, and dedicated exhaust systems to support a comfortable, well-managed indoor environment.

Client Feedback

The completed works were well received, with the upgraded HVAC solution reinforcing a comfortable, well-managed indoor environment and giving staff added confidence in day-to-day operation.
